Update! Character Concept Design

These characters were for a project for my Senior Project and my Adv. Concept Development Class. They come from an original story I created called Gumiho (Korean name for Fix Demon); it tells of a girl who vows revenge at the Fox Demon who killed her family. I was hoping for this to be pre-visualization for a game, but I might rethink that and make it into a story or comic instead. At least I now understand how to make Concept Design easier...

Katsuye: The main character
Masae: The Fox Demon (disguised as Katsuye's sister)

Ruo-Jian: A warrior who helps Katsuye

Jung-Hwa: Katsuye's uncle

Hiromasa: The priest who gave Katsuye's family the spell to summon the Fox Demon
I might redo the character look; the designs are well done. Ah well; critiques are welcome!

Count of Monte Cristo Illustration

Here is a new illustration I have done for Advanced Conceptual Illustration:

This is for Mercedes in front of Morrell and Sons Shipping Co. This took me about two days to complete in terms of color and rendering; planning this took a while, but the end product was good in the end! This is the first time I have done a female who looks longing and waiting; I am just glad to see a well-done illustration.

The next post will be a big one; since this is a project I am working on for both Advanced Concept and Senior Project. Hopefully I will get everything ready then!

New (and Final) Quarter!

It's my last quarter at SCAD and I've been busy! Again!

Meaning that this time around, I am taking Advanced Concept Design and Senior Project (I'm also taking 19th century art), and I have to admit, it is a lot of fun!

Here is what I have done so far...

These two are from Advanced Concept; and I have to admit, I had a lot of fun creating with this series; basically our class decided to create our characters and environments based on The Count of Monte Cristo (novel by Alexander Dumas). From the draw from a hat, I got Jacopo and Chateau d'If; what makes this better is that is it a Sci-Fi setting, which I have not done before (since I mostly do either fantasy or modern day themes).

And now we are doing illustrations based on the environments and characters that we got (randomly... again). This is going to be one fun quarter...

Aside that, I am planning to attend Heroes Con this year; this is going to be a third year for me. I just have to keep trucking through all my classes first before I graduate.

New Pages!

I've (finally( recovered after a long quarter and a bunch of classes; here's my new set of pages!

Aside those, I have done sketches for various dace styles; they turned out really well!

(The following are from ballet, breakdancing, sword dancing (wushu?), and tutting).

That's all what I have for now; have a great spring break!

Back from Savannah to Atlanta!

I was there for the Career Fair and I got the chance to talk to Floyd County Studios along with Cadillac Jack, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Jess3. However, it was crowded and filled with students and graduates at the convention center. I would honestly wished to spend more time in there, but some areas were packed.

I still managed to get a break in Savannah before coming back; the view was beautiful and the River Street is nice to walk along to. We also had a good time by walking around the town and hanging out with our friends.

In terms of updates...

These character designs/concepts are for the CLUE characters (property of Hasbro): Miss Scarlet, Mrs. Peacock, Miss White, Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard, and Prof. Plum (all in the order).

This is a six-page mini comic I drew out called "Fitting In", all black and white.

As for my story ideas, I will have to polish them first; then I will post them with character designs.

I'm in Savannah, Georgia now, but I am going to update this soon (aka sometime tomorrow) and I am doing a concept project in March (beginning around the time in which school ends); and I am going to plan out my own story and characters in another project. This is going to be fun!
