This is a very late post of something I made in Spring Quarter; there was a creature design class and we have to make two creatures after going to the zoo and draw sketches of them. Here's the first one: An artic creature that's supposed to puncture two holes on each side of the head:
The second project involves making an amphibious creature that finds an amulet.
I am now working on finals as of now, so this was a short update. More will be up after finals!
After a long absence and having some issues with home, I'm finally here... about time too. I'd figure this new layout would not be as busy as the other one I had before
A couple of these images are from my advanced inking class (Mila Kunis and Cameron Diaz's faces are those examples; there will be more!) and the other two are the pin-up exercises.
And here are the pin-ups: He-Man and Adventure Time! ...I have not seen Adventure Time except for that gender-bender episode. If you want to color these images or do anything with them, email me at cho.lily01@gmail.com for permission.
Aside that, I've participated in Generate; it is a 24 hour competition (honestly, I don't think we get anything this year) that has two competitions: create a 24-page comic or redesign 52 DC Characters in homage to the new DC reboot of their series. ...I decided to stick with the 24 comic since I did that two years ago. Hopefully these post up well: Here's what I did (all with a brush pen that's lost its tip): ALL 24 PAGES!! ...it's a small file. Don't worry.
Holy heck... it's been a while since I posted anything in here. >< I really need to update, don't I.
Anyway, this is a drawing version of another concept art challenge (I've resorted to using a pencil and paper since my wacom pen was taken for the challenge): a pleasure private fantasy flying ship. ...do I need to explain further? ...I'll do a color version of this.
Here are two more postings involving concept art! Warning: One image is only intended for mature audiences; discretion is advised, so, look at your own risk.
Theme: Futuristic Aztec City (Aliens Optional...)
Theme: Disgruntled Russian Hooker
Here's the site where there are more fantastic art: http://conceptart-factory.blogspot.com/
Recently, I am thinking about doing a series of posting regarding various games and entertainment stuff on here. What do you think?
...and I realized I need to finish up one post that has a certain sailor scout...
For Environments, Props, and Structures, we had to take a location outside and make it fit the 3 point perspective. I chose Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo and Karnak Temple in Egypt. ...the results were 50/50. The Shibuya Crossing turned out really well. However, the Karnak Temple didn't turn out as well as I thought. So, I will only show Shibuya Crossing:
For Concept Illustration, we have to create and illustrate two different environments: one fully developed and one underdeveloped. The results? A canyon like "city" and waterfall pod city. ...and this took me about an entire day to complete these.
On the other hand, I realized that rendering in Photoshop is actually fun! XD
Just a small idea for you guys on how I'm doing on human rendering in Photoshop...
Just a warning before you continue reading: There are a lot of pictures in this post. You have been warned.
Last quarter, I took Character Design for Animation and Digital Coloring and Lettering. Those classes were fun and there were a LOT of work last quarter.
This is the final project for Character Designs: make up our own story and create characters out of them. Then take two of them and make the turnarounds and expressions. I did mine based on the five mystical beasts in Asia. Shapes and posture were emphasized.
This was an earlier assignment that made us work with a franchise. I took Bruce Timm... and took Justice League Unlimited. I had ninja and samurai (go figure...) and this is what I did.
That... was done by hand. The original was done digitally with Photoshop CS4 and CS5. I think I also remembered my hand cramping after all of that.
This is the final for Digital Coloring and Lettering. The title for this is called "Monogatari"- inspired by the ghosts and creatures from Japanese folklore.
As usual, enjoy the images and criticisms are welcome.
As the result of two all-nighters... here are the products of what I've done for the vehicles.
This is the tech version of a caravan....
...And this is the bio version.
This was the grandeur vs gutter project for earlier today. The first one is a foyer (originally, it was supposed to be a ballroom. However, I forgot about dancing) and the second one is an abandoned apartment.
